In the northern part of the County, our farming community is vibrant. Buckeye Lake is experiencing a major revitalization. Recreational development is in progress. Restaurants and leisure activities at the Lake are now thriving all year round.
Villages in the southern portion of our County are experiencing an exciting revival. Committed residents are joining together to preserve the historical record of our villages and the people who lived on and worked the land before them. Recent Appalachian grants are expected to help fuel many preservation and revitalization efforts, bringing new opportunities to restore and grow.
The rolling hills and waters of The Wayne National Forest, Ohio’s only national forest, bring a multitude of outdoor activities and visitors for hiking, trail riding, horseback riding, fishing, hunting and boating. Our Perry State Forest’s winding trails are buzzing with APV and mountain biking adventures.
We’re free here – free to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and make it our home while encouraging visitors to stay for a bit or forever.
With the new Intel chip plant locating just north of us, we expect to welcome many visitors and new friends in the coming years. Our environment and people are well-situated to provide relaxation, connection with nature, ecotourism and agritourism adventures.
The future is bright. Find yourself here.
