The Hannah family and their business have been a large part of Shawnee’s history and began about 1919 when Scottish immigrant Don Hannah, Sr. moved his family of 11 children to Shawnee to purchase the Primrose Coal Co. near McCuneville.

Nine years later in 1927, Hannah Brothers Furniture, Appliances & Hobby Shop began when Don Jr. and his brother Norvall opened a wallpaper and paint store in the Heidelbaugh building on East Main Street.

During the ’30s, the business expanded its operation to include appliances, then furniture and radios. Several decades have passed and the family business has added hobby supplies to their inventory with a fun selection of radio-controlled vehicles.

Visit the Hannah Brothers website for the full, amazing history and drop in when you’re around Shawnee to check out the cool cars & trucks!
