Mayor Douglas Cannon, who served the Village of Crooksville from 1994 until 2005, was the driving force behind the creation of Crooksville’s Recreation Center which now offers year-round recreation, programs and events.

Current programming includes a climbing wall that has welcomed people of all ages and from all walks of life. It has even gone international with visitors from Mexico, Germany-Austria and Slovakia. Climbers who have reached the top have ranged from two years of age to 74 and includes disabled climbers.

The Recreation Center also offers archery, youth basketball, karate, and other special events. A playground and skateboard ramps are also on the grounds of the Center.

For information on visiting or renting the Rec Center, call the Village of Crooksville Administration Office at (740) 982-2712 and ask for Lacy.
