The Perry County District Library system has six locations around the county where you’ll find activities, historical information and genealogical research assistance (at the main New Lexington branch). Perry County District Library – Main Branch
New Lexington

Perry County District Library’s main location, in New Lexington, is conveniently located in the heart of the community and offers a large parking lot, outdoor seating with robust Wi-Fi, an event stage on the front lawn, and a meeting room available for use by the public. In addition to traditional library materials and services, this library (and all branch locations) offers a mobile hotspot lending program, the use of a Cricut machine by reservation, technology instruction, resume-building assistance, programs for all ages, the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program for children, assistance in registering for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, an afterschool snack program, and so much more. The New Lexington location is home to the Perry County Genealogy Society collection of materials for visitors to access during library hours, the Perry County Baseball Hall of Fame display, and the Januarius Aloysius MacGahan display.

Corning Branch

Corning Branch is located just off State Route 13 and provides a great place to stop and connect to free Wi-Fi both inside and outside the building. In addition to traditional library materials and services, this branch offers a drive-thru window, mobile hotspot lending program, an afterschool snack program for kids, and a literacy enrichment program with our favorite therapy dog, Rudy! Outdoor seating with robust Wi-Fi is available at this location.

Crooksville Branch

Crooksville Branch is conveniently located on Main Street in Crooksville and offers both street parking and a parking lot in the rear of the building. In addition to traditional library materials and services, this branch showcases an extensive collection of Doctor Who movies, provided by a local donor and avid fan. Kids can enjoy afterschool snacks at this location. Visitors to the Village of Crooksville can access the Internet at the library by using a computer workstation during regular business hours or through connecting to free Wi-Fi accessible both inside and outside the building from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Somerset Branch

Somerset Branch library opened the doors to a new building in December 2018. With both street parking and a easy-to-access parking lot in the rear of the building, this two-story library offers all of the traditional library materials and services along with spacious meeting room spaces for the public to use and outdoor seating with robust Wi-Fi. Upon entering the building, visitors will see the Gwen Young, et al Memorial Bookshelf and a wonderful children’s space for little visitors to enjoy. Snacks for children are available at this location.

Thornville Branch

Thornville Branch library is conveniently located near the elementary school and offers a drive-thru book drop along with a convenient parking lot. In the heart of a residential area, this library blends in with a picturesque wrap-around front porch complete with seating seen from the street, while showcasing an all-glass main entrance seen from the parking lot in the rear.  In addition to traditional library materials and services, outdoor seating and robust Wi-Fi are available, along with snacks for children, and a meeting room space.
