Sunday, June 29th is International Little Prince Day, celebrating the birth date of Antoine de Saint-Exubéry, author of the beloved children’s book The Little Prince which features his watercolor illustrations.
In this watercolor class, we’ll recreate the famous watercolor cover as a 7 x 9-inch piece. Students can choose their own colors or stay true to Saint-Exubéry’s original painting.
We’ll begin by tracing the design onto watercolor paper. This is a simple painting and the techniques we’ll use will help beginners understand how watercolor works as a medium. You’ll learn how to create watercolor gradients and work with the water to create beautiful blends of different colors.
All materials included – feel free to bring beverages to enjoy as you paint!
Open to all ages. Children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult, please.
